Established in 1946, Moorabbin Archery Club (originally the Victorian Archery Club) is the oldest existing archery club in Victoria and has been located at the present site since 1953. The then Mayor of Moorabbin Cr. Shipston officially opened the archery field on the 30th of March 1957.

HISTORY REVISITED 49 Years ago October 1959 Archery Society of Victoria's launched a new magazine & 60 Years ago in 1948 Victorian Archery Club (now Moorabbin Archery Club) began a series of weekly bulletins - these were published continually for the next 5 years.
& In 1941 an edition of The Australasian Archer, a well published magazine one which pre-dates Archery Australia. In it an article appeals to the archers of Australia and New Zealand to contribute to the purchase of a Spifire Fighter Aircraft to aid in the war effort.
