No American Round Handicap Shoot was
scheduled for last week as we had invited the Southern Cross Archery
Club to join us in a shoot and five members turned up. Members of our
club showed interest in the crossbow that was exhibited by Tom Boland
and some even ventured to shoot a few bolts.
The pink lemonade, or lolly-water, and biscuits appeared to be
appreciated by all-----------let's invite some other club's along.
Great news from Fred Jones, his new arrows are ready for fletching, but
what will he score with these new super arrows, barrelled and duralumin
nocked, when he can knock up 589 with a borrowed set ( Mrs. Bowden
intends to use them herself next week; they must be good arrows after
all)
It may not be generally known among members that Bill Bowden attacked
his record American Round score of 626 on Jan. 31, after shooting a
first round of 581, but he just failed to crack it, his score being 620.
However a Double American Round of 1201 is rather colossal to us who
would be lucky to get 800. |
